Tokyo Day 1
So I am sitting here in a haze of tiredness and jet lag trying to make sense of the thoughts in my head. This first day in Tokyo has been eventful (and long as all hell!) already. It has been a struggle to try and stay awake and make it to the evening (it’s a losing battle! Like sleep is calling my name XD).
After arriving to a downpour and ridiculous humidity (that has ruined my hair) we arrived at our hotel to be told that we have to wait to check-in (such absurdity!). But how pretty is this? (evoking summer days and happiness!)
So with a few hours to kill before being able to go and have a rest it was off to explore the nearby area. The hotel is situated near two shopping centres/malls and is right near Tokyo Bay. The first mall called Aqua City (the smaller of the two) has some nice clothing shops and as seems to be the norm here a lot of tax free shopping. Below is the view walking towards Aqua City which is just sooo freaking cool! XD
And I can’t believe this because I am not a McDonald's fan (at all!) but due to laziness and a language barrier we had no idea was going to be this
difficult we decided to have a good ol’ McDonalds for lunch. Because you can’t
go wrong with McDonald's. Even though my aim was to have a hamburger I ended up
with a Teriyaki burger that was actually quite nice (except for the weird mayo
combo :s).
We also visited a 7/11 to get some instant Ramen (cannot beat Japanese Ramen!) and enjoyed it by our window because that view is just breathtaking.
And this weather!!!!!! IT NEEDS TO STOP RAINING! XD. Because
the floors around here are ridiculously slippery and I know if it doesn’t stop
raining that I will be falling on my ass soon enough. I'm hoping for sunshine any day now...
