Tokyo Day 2
Hey guys, another post from Tokyo! So day two started off with a ridiculously early start (like 6am early!). The jet lag is real!!! I wasn't sure what exactly the plan was but spontaneity is always fun XD.
The first part of the day was spent down at Tokyo Bay. Unfortunately the water is not allowed to be swam in (which suuuuuuucks!) but it's a nice little place to sit and watch the water and boats move about (and have a romantic stroll should the need arise xP ). It also has a lot of greenery surrounding the pathway above with some very loud bugs! A very tiny crab in the rocks was also spotted (but it ran away before I could get a picture...)
After a nice leisurely stroll it was off into Tokyo and trying to figure out the Japanese train system (London does not compare to the train system over here!!). After a little confusion and wandering around, Tokyo Station was finally found. And wow is Tokyo Station busy! We also managed to buy Suica cards, which are like Oyster cards with little to no problem. They are so handy and don't require you buying a ticket each time you travel. They are available at most big stations as far as I'm aware and have an English option so you do not have to worry about not understanding.
And under Tokyo Station is basically a mall and it is very easy to get lost in if you do not know where you are going! So be warned XD. There is so much to see here so take some time to wander around. Unfortunately Character Street could not be found but it is somewhere down there and plans to go back are already in the works (meaning hunting Character Street doooooown XD).
Once in Tokyo we exited out through the Marunouchi Central Exit and more wandering ensued. This station is located very near to the Imperial Palace, about a ten minute walk away. And it is a very nice area, quite modern and seems quite upmarket. I'm also amazed and love how the streets in Tokyo are immaculate. Like I've never seen streets so clean!
After a long day I did not want to venture too far away from the hotel (I was sooooo tired, jet lag can seriously go away now!). So dinner ended up being at a place called Anchors (that thankfully had an English menu and English speaking staff!). It was an ok meal (not the best I've had) and I must say it was very odd having tortilla chips with a burger. However this was a quick and easy dinner to obtain. Because trying to find restaurants with English menu's is proving very difficult.
xx

So far I am enjoying Tokyo immensely. It is such a wonderful city that is constantly bustling with activity (and people!). I still haven't even seen most of it yet but I am looking forward to more wandering and happening upon wonderful places.
Also, random fact lol but do not expect to find many bins around (but there are some mainly located in stations!) so carry the rubbish you have until you get back to your hotel.
