Dinner & X-Men

Hey guys, so it was finally off to see X-Men Apocalypse. Like a billion years after it was released buuuuuut better late than never xD. I was fairly excited to see this as the trailer was really good. But of course before the movie it was time for dinner! Because if you guys do not know I love food xD. Byron was chosen as the destination and if you're not from the UK then this is a popular burger joint to go to.

I quite like Byron and the burgers are good and they even have bunless burgers which I like because sometimes a burger with the bun can be a bit much (carb overload!). I went for the Byron burger, american cheese (monterey jack all the way!), bacon and  lettuce. I also like the fact that the burgers come with a pickle because I love pickles. The chicken wings were crispy which I didn't expect and quite spicy which is like omg!I totally cannot handle spice xP. Oddly for me though I enjoyed the blue cheese dip that came with it because usually I hate blue cheese anything. But with my mouth kind of on fire it helped take the burn away.

Irony
And the movie itself...gah! I really wanted to love it wholly because I love X-Men and always have. They are my favourite characters out of Marvel (specifically the original X-Men). And I enjoyed the previous films but this one, I just could not love completely. There were some good bits and some bad ones. Like Jean Grey, I love her character (especially the Phoenix saga!) but for some reason in this film she seemed a little meh. And the accent...I'm probably being critical but I did not like Sophie Turner's American accent. She sounded like a mixture of English and American.

And Apocalypse himself, like wtf?! Personally I think they did not utilise him in the right way. By rights he is one of the X-Men's most formidable foe. And in this he just wasn't as big and badass as he he was in the numerous animations. And I get it is hard to portray that but I just never really liked Apocalypse in this film. He never really seemed like that much of a threat or that menacing and badass! It just seemed like he was there to give all the other mutants the powers we know them to have and that was it. And how it ends (SPOILER in case you haven't seen it!) it seemed that the film (probably the entire film) was setting up a Jean Grey/Phoenix story (maybe the next movie?) rather than anything else.

Quicksilver was awesome again adding the lols along with Nightcrawler who I really enjoyed seeing. The makeup for him was so good. Also SPOILER ALERT (for those of you who have not seen the film yet! Which can't be a lot of people cause it has been out for ages but still xP)........................................................................................................................................................
Wolverine making a cameo was so cool! I was like yaaaaaaas Hugh Jackman!! What are we going to do when he is Wolverine no more?! I don't even know because I just can't imagine anyone else being Wolverine. And how cool was it to see the Danger Room?! xD. Overall the film was entertaining and I enjoyed seeing the characters of Jean and Scott and Co when they were younger. What do you guys think of the film? Yay or Nay? Also that end credit scene....I am looking forward to how that will pan out and if that character will be in the new Wolverine film or the next X-Men film.

Till next time xx
