Tokyo Day 8

Hey guys, how is everyone? It is day 8 already!!! Cannot believe it. So today we were blessed with a good day of weather (perhaps the first and only one!) and on a whim that the weather would hold up it was off to Tokyo Tower (which I keep confusing with the Sky Tree!!)

And boy was it a scorcher! Like 34 degrees and humid AF! I've heard some people think that the Tower is gaudy but I think it's a really cool attraction. And having been in Tokyo for nearly two weeks I personally think it's synonymous with Tokyo. I can't not look at the skyline and not see the Tower.

The views from the first observatory were cool and on a good day (like the day we had) you can see far and wide. Unfortunately it was still cloudy in the distance so we did not get to see Mount Fuji but on a properly clear day you would be able to.

They also have windows set at intervals in the floor and it's cool to be able to look down below you (albeit a bit trippy! XD).

The special observation deck I think was better (FYI you have to pay again for that). To get into the Tower and the main observatory it was 900yen and for the 2nd observatory deck it was 700 yen. Once on the special observation deck they have handy pictures dotted around to let you know what you are looking at; because guys it is a lot to look at. Tokyo is freaking huuuuuuuuge!! XD. Taking a trip here (barring the weather is good) is definitely worth it.

After an exhausting walk around all day it was time for some relaxation and what better way to relax than going to an Onsen (Japanese bath for anyone who does not know). And the onsen we went to was kind of an entertainment/attraction one called Oedo Onsen Monogatari and is located on Odaiba. Inside is fashioned to replicate the Edo period and everyone is dressed in Yukata (summer kimono) adding to the feel.

You can play some games, eat and drink and even get some spa treatments. After you've satisfied all of those criteria you can then head off outside to the foot bath (which is warm!) and take a walk on the perilous path (if you go you'll know what I mean XD).

And then you can go in and soak in the baths of which there are many and all of varying temperatures. They even have some baths outside (no pictures allowed obviously!).

It is a nice experience (and soooooo relaxing!) even if it is a bit confusing as to what you have to do (to a noob like me!) but if you just copy what everyone else does you'll be ok.

xx
