Dinner and Batman v Superman
Hey guys, how is everyone doing? I hope that everyone's week has been alright. I am loving this sunshine and kind of warmish weather! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas Spring is finally here!!!!! XD. So Batman v Superman has been out now for about a week and it is of course time to go and see it. It looks very good and of course there is a new Batman so I have to see it regardless to see what Ben Affleck has done. Cause Christian Bale was just bomb at being Batman.
So before the film we went out for dinner in a restaurant I've never been to before called Ping Pong. It is a dimsum restaurant and has branches all over London. It is always really busy which is usually a sure sign that a restaurant is good. We got seated at a sharing table, which is basically one big table with 2 seat benches which of course if you're in a big group works well. If you're seated next to loads of strangers like we were it can get a little cramped. Especially trying to fit all of your food around you.
You order by ticking off what you would like on a sheet and then they bring you out the dishes. Once they have brought you the dishes they cross out your order to say it's been delivered to you. It's strange but works.
We ordered quite a few things because I was starving! And there was not one thing that I did not like. I cannot remember all of the dishes we got (chicken and cashew dumpling, spicy chicken dumplings) and below the prawn toast and prawn balls were by far the best. Everything tasted soooooo good! And you don't realise how filling it can be because we got roughly 6/7 dishes between two of us and we were full by the end of it. Not overly full but the good full XP.
And dessert happened because I love dessert and there is always room for dessert! This was the iced coconut parfait (basically like ice cream!) and it was really good. Not too sweet but coconutty and yum! I would definitely recommend coming here and trying this place out. It can end up being quite expensive but the food is really good so it seems worth the price.
So the film...I do not want to spoil anything for anyone so I'll just give my opinion. It was good but there were some elements to the film that were just like whaaaaaat?!?!?! NO!. Superman's story just seemed a bit up and down. People like him, people hate him. People are being stupid because they are blaming Superman for something that he clearly did not do. It's all a bit wishy washy.
And ugh!! Lex Luthor...do not even get me started! What were they thinking portraying Luthor like that? If anyone has read the comics or watched the animated series we all know Lex is a genius and probably the most intelligent character in the entire DC universe. He is not Joker crazy which seems to be how he is portrayed. So I didn't like that at all. And the plot...it seemed a bit disjointed but it made sense mostly. I get that Zack Snyder was trying to set up another movie but I wish he would've focused more on this one and these characters.
Ben Affleck as the Batman though was actually pretty good even though he didn't really have facial expressions. But to be fair that's just Batman so I think he did a good job. A little on the hardened, darker side of Batman which I liked. Again we only get hints as to what's gone on in Batman's life and why he is the way he is. I wish we could've got some more background but I guess we have to wait for his stand alone movie. And as to why he wants to fight Superman that's kind of on the vague side. As for Wonder Woman I don't really see why she had to be in the film because she did absolutely nothing. Of course it is a set up for Justice League and her own movie but I think she was totally unnecessary.
I would say check it out and make your own mind up about the film. There were good elements and then there were bad.
What did you guys think of the film? Yay or nay?
Till next time xx
