Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Hey guys, how is everyone? I hope that the week has been treating you well. This post is about a new foundation that I have fallen in love with. As the title says it is by Giorgio Armani. I have been looking for a Summer foundation for ages but I did not want a super full coverage/matte foundation. I quite like to let my natural skin shine through in the Summer and I cannot be asked to do a lot of makeup half time especially if I am somewhere hot and humid.
In my search I got a few samples from different brands. I had heard good things about the Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint foundation but my skin just did not like it. At all. I had a reaction to this as my skin is super sensitive. I thought this would be a good match but alas, it was not to be. I found it was way too fragrant for me even though the fragrance was nice.
And then I stumbled upon Giorgio Armani and I wasn't sure about it so again I got a sample. And upon first use I was like yaaaaaaaaaas! I love this. It was easy to apply, gave me a nice glow and did not add too much coverage. I have used it now for about a week now and I think I have found my new foundation. Like not just for Summer xD. Which is a bummer because this has quite the price tag at £37. It has a slight scent to it but it isn't unpleasant and more importantly for my sensitive skin it does not break me out or give my a rash.
The finish of this is definitely silky but luminous. After you've applied it and let it sit for a little bit it looks like you've applied powder even if you haven't but not in a bad way. And the finish is gorgeous! It has build able medium coverage and on days when I need a bit more coverage I do apply 2 layers. But again if you have good skin one layer of this will be enough. If you like the dewy/luminous fresh faced look this is a foundation for you. It applies like a dream and I have dry skin and large pores in certain areas and this does not accentuate those bits at all. I use a flat top kabuki to apply this (even though it is recommended with a foundation brush) as a sponge will eat this up as the foundation is quite liquid-y. This lasts quite well throughout the day as well and adding a setting spray makes it last just that little bit longer. Definitely a winner for me!
Till next time xx
