Day at the Tennis

Hey guys, I hope everyone is having a good week. Cannot believe it is already midweek! I know I say this all the time but time is seriously flying. Before I know it, it will be Christmas!!! And this weather is so crazy. It is suddenly so darn cold! I definitely think it is time for the oversized scarves and layers.

So I was lucky enough to be able to head to the O2 for the ATP World Tour Finals which if you are not a tennis aficionado is the year end tournament that only the top 8 players get to play at. It is a round robin system in which all players get to play against each other. How the system actually works still kind of baffles me but it is what it is. Coming to the O2 is always a fun experience due to the sheer size of the building and how they can transform the arena into whatever it is required for. This tournament is always such a fun day out and an absolutely awesome experience. I went for the whole day which meant four different matches, two doubles matches and two singles matches. The way it is set out is there is one double match and then a singles match.

The doubles just like the singles can be entertaining or like the second match I saw can be quite boring buuuuut that is just sports. Unfortunately I do not think that they get enough credit or coverage as they should as the stadium was half full. It is a shame but if you have the chance to see a doubles match definitely check it out.

The stadium itself is mahoosive and it is not something you expect. Of course seating is big thing as obviously the further up you are the further away you are. The seats this year were actually quite good and I had a good view of the court and players. The picture below does not do the arena justice lol because it looks fairly small...

And OMG I GOT TO ROGER FEDERER PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD XD That had to be in capitals because it is something I have wanted to see for like ever!! Roger Federer is by far my favourite player and the opportunity to witness such a talented player in action is just freaking AWESOME!!! XD. I have to mention Djokovic just because well...he was there to lol XP. To see these two giants play was definitely a pleasure and the atmosphere inside the stadium was ridiculously electric.

This tournament always seems to produce excellent tennis and the singles matches always seem to be great and on occasion just unbelievably awesome. I will warn you though that actually watching tennis live is a complete different experience than watching it on the TV and is actually rather tiring. But if you get the opportunity and like/love tennis definitely try and check this tournament out.

And yay! It is staying in London for the next three years so hopefully more tennis tournaments to come.

xx
